Please find information about North Cheshire Jewish Primary School Governing Body.

The Governing Body at NCJPS works in close partnership with the Headteacher, staff and parents. The Headteacher is responsible for the day to day running of the school and governors are involved with other important areas such as curriculum, staffing, school buildings and finance. Governors act as a ‘critical friend’ to support, challenge and ask questions.

The Parent Governors are Shelley Epstein and Omer Idan.

Literacy Link Governor

Welcome from Mark Hilton
(Chair of Governors)

I am extremely excited to take over as the new Chair of Governors. It is a real privilege for me to be able to contribute to the School in this way and I hope to build on the work of my predecessor, Andrew Basger, in maintaining the Outstanding standards of this wonderful School. I am very grateful to Andrew, who worked tirelessly during his three years as Chair, for doing such a great job for and on behalf of the School.

At North Cheshire Jewish Primary School, the Governors, teachers and support staff all strive to work together to provide a first class standard of both secular and Jewish education in a nurturing environment for our pupils, and the children's welfare and well-being is at the forefront of our focus and our plans.

We are extremely proud of the continued achievements of our children and the high standards maintained in both learning and behaviour.

I am also very grateful to our Outstanding staff - at every level and in every role - who work so diligently to deliver the best possible experience to our children.

At North Cheshire we believe strongly in respect and indeed we introduced ‘RESPECT’ as an acronym to instil values in, and cultivate meaningful ideas for, the children as to the best ways both to learn and to interact with each other.

RESPECT is now embedded in our curriculum and our teaching structure, with the themes running through assemblies and lesson plans. Each week we focus on a different letter and promote a different value:

R- Resilience

E- Empathy

S- Self -Awareness

P- Positivity

E- Excellence

C- Communication

T - Teamwork

In this way our children learn to grow and develop in a way that not only fosters a love of learning but also equips them with the important life skills they will require on their journey beyond North Cheshire.

Please take time to browse our website to learn more about the School, and please don’t hesitate to contact me, or any of my fellow Governors, should you have any questions, comments or suggestions.

On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I would like to welcome you to North Cheshire Jewish Primary School (NCJPS). We hope you find our website clear, informative and easy to navigate. It is designed to give you a flavour of the vibrant life of our school, the work of our pupils and the quality education we strive to deliver.

I am very proud to be the Headteacher of such a wonderful school, which is the only Jewish school in South Manchester and set in spacious grounds in Heald Green. We share our school site with North Cheshire Jewish Nursey and work in partnership to ensure an effective transition for children entering Foundation Stage from the Nursery setting.

NCJPS provides a nurturing environment for every pupil and we pride ourselves on having a caring and dedicated staff that work tirelessly to ensure that every child feels valued.  In addition, we offer a highly motivating and academic atmosphere where children are encouraged and supported to reach their full potential.

NCJPS has a strong Jewish ethos and our children are confident and proud of their Judaism and have a strong identity regarding their own community and the State of Israel. Alongside this we believe that our pupils must be good British citizens, and pride ourselves in our work on British values and heritage.

Being the Headteacher of NCJPS, I am fully committed to the school and local community and strive to ensure that the school serves our children and their families well.

If you would like to know more about our school, you are very welcome to come and visit.  The children of NCJPS very much enjoy talking about and sharing their achievements and our successes.
