NCJPS is proud to have supported The Big Birthday Appeal since its launch - which actually took place at our school – back in 2001.  As a school, we are hugely supportive of Big Birthday’s aims to get children excited about tzedakah and inspire them to help children in our community who are less fortunate than they are. The charity has raised over £190,000 to date and funded many holidays for local special needs children. It has also funded the Big Birthday sensory playroom at The Fed’s Children’s Centre, as well as a number of other projects with The Friendship Circle and Jewish Child’s Day

Its team of volunteer mums have developed a fabulous range of ultra-convenient products that are perfect for time-stretched parents. These include: gift wrap, gift stickers and cards for every occasion, including births and bar/bat mitzvahs. All proceeds from the products go to charity and you can buy them at www.thebigbirthdayappeal.org and have them delivered to school.  Also, keep a look out for playground sales which will be advertised in the Newsletter.

Big Birthday also runs the Great Gift Giveaway, which encourages children to donate one present from their birthday gifts and deposit it in the special yellow bucket at NCJPS reception. The team then distribute these to local children in need via local hospices, centres for abused women or organisations which provide activities for local children with special needs.
